A DRAINING EXPERIENCE

It’s frustrating to find that, if your vehicle sits for more than a day or so, the battery goes dead and must be charged to start the engine. When this problem occurs repeatedly and the usual suspects (an interior light left on, etc.) have been eliminated as causes, a “parasitic load” is likely to be the cause. Today’s vehicles have a number of electronic modules that draw current from the battery, but these are considered normal and are not usually strong enough to drain a battery (unless the vehicle sits for a very long time). To locate the actual cause of a parasitic battery draw, the technician must use a digital multimeter to measure the voltage drop across individual fuses.

Our electronic gadgets clearly improve your driving experience, but to properly maintain such hightech cars, you need a high-tech multimeter and a technician who knows how to use it. At our shop, our ASEcertified technicians stay up to date on all the latest innovations and tools, while at the same time providing you with the old-fashioned service that you deserve.

HINT: Driving short distances does not allow engine oil to warm up sufficiently enough to efficiently mop up internal combustion contaminants.
