DON'T LOSE YOUR COOL

As a matter of preventive maintenance, it is highly advisable to perform a coolant flush on your vehicle every two years or 30,000 miles (or longer in automobiles with extended-life coolant). Replacing the coolant helps extend the life of the radiator and ensure against engine overheating. At the same time, it also makes good sense to replace the thermostat. This relatively inexpensive part has the vitally important job of regulating engine temperature, so it's not surprising that thermostat failure is the second most common cause of engine overheating and engine failure (behind only a failed radiator fan). It is also a good idea to replace the radiator cap, which acts as a release valve, allowing excess heat to escape.

Replacing your coolant is just one of the things we do as part of routine preventive maintenance at our shop. Our experienced technicians are ASE certified, which means we have the experience and expertise to care for your car. We can catch small things, like aging coolant, before they become big repair bills. That can save you time, money, and headaches down the road.

HINT: The radiator cap works by allowing heat to escape and excess coolant to flow to an overflow tank on either side of the radiator.
